About the Item
5th Avenue, NYC offers a unique avenue view of the building previouly seen in the Skyscraper Series by using a mirrored box to create an infinity effect. Meant to recreate the long view seen looking up the avenues of Manhattan, reflections of the mirrored vessesl are used to recreate the endless line of buildings that lead up to larger building in the distance. The Skyscraper Series of blown glass vessels feature vibrant colors layered atop a mirrored interior that is meant to mimic the various steel and glass structures they are inspired by. The NYC bottle (center) is finished off with a stopper that replicates the actual spire atop these structures and is left transparent as a reminder that these works are indeed handblown glass vessels.
