You walk into your bedroom, it's 1895. As you approach your well appointed vanity, you see it and smile. How could anyone miss this stunning piece of art in glass and sterling, capturing all that's Art Nouveau . It sits there in all of its beauty holding your best perfume, just waiting for you to gently lift the delicate tulip shaped stopper. The evening light glistens across the intricate floral overlay producing beautiful sparkles. You smile.
Today, this gorgeous piece of history, made by the Alvin Corporation, is just as spectacular. It stands at almost 8 inches tall and still holds all the beauty and mystic of so long ago. The markings of 999/1000 Fine STERLING indicate the highest silver content, which has been meticulously placed over this unusual 8 lobed hand-blown bottle and stopper. The composition is a whimsical floral design that sweeps across the surface like a summer breeze. The long glass stopper has been preserved by the process of cementing it into the top. The rubbery cement could be removed by the new owner to make it functional. Imagine this piece on a vanity, a shelf or powder room. Or perhaps it's that perfect gift for someone special. Remarkable.
