About the Item
Gorgeous and elegant, vintage Murano hand blown amethyst and gold flecks Italian art glass powder or jewelry box and perfume bottles set. The set is documented to designer Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950s, and published in his Weil Ceramics and Glass Inc. catalog. All pieces have three cute dimples on the body, with a spike top decoration. Each is profusely covered in heavy gold leaf throughout. Great set for a bedside table, dresser or vanity. Or just showcase them in any room around the house. Use the jar as a catchall, candy or jewelry dish. The bottles could be used as vases without the stoppers if you want. Mid-century era. Bottles measure: 9" tall. Powder box / lidded jar measures 7" tall.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
