About the Item
Rare Art Deco elephant perfume bottle in black glass.
Made by Maurice Model in Verdun, France, 1930s.
Good condition. I has a chip to the top rim (pictured).
Signed with makers mark.
"Etablissements M.Model, the company of Maurice Jules Model (1900-1973), was created in 1925. With its shop and offices at 18 rue des Fêtes in Paris. And in 1928 opened a glass factory Cristalleries de Verdun at 10 rue Dame-Zabée in Verdun. Some of the shades for lighting Maurice Model made were unsigned. Some are signed M.Model others Verdun France. The factory was heavily bombed in June 1940 and subsequently closed."
