A one of a kind sculpture that takes the form of a vessel yet distinguishes itself by not being hollow. Entirely hand-crafted in a Renaissance-era technique creating a marbleised 'made-stone' with pigmented composites.
Standing at 48 cm tall this substantial decorative sculpture is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship involving multi-stage process of crafting, filling and polishing resulting in a smooth surface that contrasts with areas textured by the artist’s dented fingerprints, adding a tactile dimension.
The sculpture's striking finish inspired by the elegance of Ancient Greek Calyx vessels. Natural pigments are carefully blended into composite material in a marbleised form, resulting in an interplay of textures and colours. This sculpture serves as both a nod to classical antiquity and a contemporary exploration of material and design, making it a unique eye-catching piece.
