About the Item

A cased pale blue Empoli glass apothecary jar, by Carlo Moretti. Handcrafted in the Empoli region of Italy during the 1960s. A refined example of mid-century Italian decorative glass, it reflects the Empoli region’s mastery of layered colour techniques. The jar features a softly saturated cased glass body — an interior of opaque white glass encased in a translucent pale blue outer layer. Its bullicante glass finial, rendered in matching blue with suspended air bubbles, adds a subtle visual rhythm and is characteristic of Moretti's stylistic detail. Measuring 15 cm in height and 11.5 cm in diameter, this jar is in very good vintage condition with only minor wear to the base, consistent with age and use. A few tiny firing flaws present but no chips or cracks to the glass. Elegant yet practical, this vintage Italian apothecary jar works beautifully as a vanity container, a bathroom accessory, or a display piece among other Empoli or Murano glassware.
