About the Item
Beautiful and large, vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso green and blue Italian art glass spike top jar container. Attributed to designer Antonio Da Ros, for the Cenedese company. The bottom bowl part is very thick and heavy with thin outer layer of blue, while the lid / top part is much thinner in transparent light blue with a green bubble decoration in the middle. The pieces have a high Uranium / UV reactive glass content. I have photographed the piece under a black light, and it glows throughout. Would make a great display piece on any console, coffee table or credenza. Display it as a sculptural collectors piece, or functional as a candy jar. Mid-century era. Very rare shape. Measures 13" tall x 6 1/4" wide.
