About the Item

Charged with the humble task of storing dry goods, this small earthenware jar was hand-shaped in the early 20th century with balanced proportions and a beautifully irregular unglazed surface. The round jar has a tapered form with a narrow base, high shoulders and a constrained neck flanked by two small strap handles. Left undecorated, the jar has a quiet beauty, patterned only by firing imperfections and the brushed texture of its variegated grey slip clay finish. Additional Dimensions: Diameter of Opening: 5"
