This unique antique French milk jug, also known as a canne à lait, was used in the 19th century to transport milk from the farm to the house or to the market. It is a handmade piece, crafted from brass, and exceptionally large.
What makes it unique is the warm, weathered patina combined with the many visible repairs. These traces of use and repair give it a characteristic and authentic appearance. It dates from around 1820-1850.
