About the Item
Pre-Columbian Earthenware Dog Vessel, Colima, Western Mexico
A lively pre-Columbian Colima dog vessel sitting back on its haunches, with one foot slightly lifted off the ground as if going for a scratch. The tail is curled and the head is cocked slightly to one side; the diamond-shaped eyes are incised. There is a small rim chip, otherwise intact, with nice mineral deposits overall. A collection number of 13 is inked on a piece of tape on the bottom of one foot.
