Rare 19th century set of six brass nesting weights / cups, circa late 1800s. This vintage set of brass nesting weights includes six pieces ranging in weight from 8 oz to .5 oz. The largest is 1.5" tall and is marked 16 on the top and has a folding latched lid. Would make a unique gift idea for that hard to shop for person on your list! Nesting cup weights were originally designed to make the transport of weights for commercial transactions more convenient. The idea dates back to Roman times. The nested cups are made to sit into each other within a house vessel. #2824.
