About the Item
A very well crafted lidded Water Jar in the form of the vessels used in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. The body of the jar is ribbed, glazed and bears fine abstract coloring in a deep deep brown on a lighter background in an olive brown with the underlying red clay showing on the lid edge. Substantial feeling with good weight. Marked ”Red” on the base.
Dimensions: Height 8.75” Diameter 5.75
Condition: Please see detail photos. There is a very small glaze loss on the interior edge of the lid mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is at once strong and serene.
