About the Item

Add warmth and character to any interior with this unique and richly decorated antique “Brasero” table. Crafted in Spain circa 1780, the round fruitwood table stands on four elegant chestnut barley-twist legs connected by a matching circular stretcher. The piece features two removable brass trays—one at the top and one at the bottom—each fitted within a molded rim. The upper tray is adorned with graceful shell-form handles, while both surfaces are embellished with intricate brass appliqués including equestrian figures, fleur-de-lis, and repoussé floral motifs, all framed by decorative brass nailhead trim. Originally designed as a brasero (from the French brasier), this table once held hot coals beneath a draped cloth to provide warmth in winter months. Today, it serves beautifully as a conversation piece, plant stand, or even a creative bar table to chill bottles or display décor. The table retains its original brass bowls and patinated hardware and remains in good condition commensurate with age and use, displaying a rich walnut-toned finish with subtle warping to the wooden top and base (see photos for details). Measures: 29.5" diameter × 29.25" height.
