19th century Cloisonné vase richly decorated with bright Oriental patterning, chrysanthemum flowers, and birds. Topped with a gold rim, and featuring a bright blue interior, two sides are flanked with golden lion mask handles.
Cloisonné is a way of enamelling an object, typically made of copper, whereby fine wires are used to delineate the decorative areas into which enamel paste is applied before the object is fired and polished.
