About the Item
19th Century French Chinoiserie Bronze Jardiniere ~ Planter was cast from solid bronze to last for a millennium! The intricate design extends around all four faces, including elephant motifs serving as leg supports on each corner flanking intricately styled aprons. The design on the top creates a fanciful finish, and two decorative handles round out the work. The most amazing details are found on all four sides, featuring motifs imitating ancient works from the Far East that were all the rage in Europe during this period. The included tin insert shows age deterioration.
