About the Item

A handsome and most decorative French 19th century Renaissance st. Ormolu and Silvered Bronze tray/centerpiece. This wonderful rectangular shaped "vide poche" tray is raised by four toupie shaped supports below a satin and burnished body and raised rim. The inside of the tray is decorated with various scrolled foliate vines, while at the center is a wonderful and richly chased silver plated medallion of a warrior profile. At both ends of the tray are pierced 'D' shaped silver plated handles with reeded designs and additional scrolled vine designs. Wonderful quality throughout.
