About the Item

An elegant and high quality French 19th century Renaissance st. patinated Bronze and Ormolu centerpiece/urn. This beautifully detailed urn is raised by a circular mottled and stepped Ormolu base. Above the Ormolu base is a patinated Bronze fluted socle with a foliate band around its base with accents of gilded berries. The body of the urn is mounted within a foliate and dentil patterned support with handles on either side. The handles on each side are decorated with interlocking Ormolu dolphins that present the seat for the patinated Bronze satyr as he plays an Ormolu flute. The patinated Bronze body is tastefully decorated with frolicking cherubs amongst a female satyr. The top rim of the urn is decorated with a mottled Ormolu band with dentil patterns. The urn showcases a smooth patinated Bronze interior which allows for it to be used also as a planter.
