About the Item
Unique handcrafted carved wood pedestal plant holder crafted in France, early 20th century. Commissioned to a skilled craftsman for custom design, it features a baluster form, hand turned on a lathe with incised linear and foliate band relief carvings. The twisted design column sits on a raised circular base and supports the fitted plant/flowerpot with a robustly flared rim. A special piece with elegant, rustic European character and a warm, aged patina.
