About the Item
This large Chinese planter is finished in a rich green glaze that highlights its bold relief decoration. The wide circular form is defined by a thick rolled rim and decorated panels featuring a sinuous dragon among clouds alternating with medallions and patterned borders. Raised lion-mask handles complete the design, lending a sculptural presence to the piece.
The glaze presents a deep emerald tone with subtle variations, catching light to reveal dimension and texture across the surface. Areas of natural wear at the base and within the interior point to use, adding character to the piece without diminishing its decorative strength.
