Gilt Bronze Aesthetic 'Fairy' Motif Cachepots, dating to the 1870s and attributed to the prestigious French Glass works, Baccarat. These cachepots are a fine example to the Aesthetic Movement's influence on art and design during that era.
Of square form, they are encased in the elegance of gilt bronze cast and engraved 'stick
ball' mounts, adding subtle opulence to their design. The front and back panels are adorned with intricate hand-painted vignettes, each capturing a unique fantasy-themed aesthetic around fairy mythology. These enchanting scenes depict the harmonious relationship between nature, depicted in soft earth tones with butterflies, flowers, and the essence of springtime folly. The sides are further enhanced with square geometric panels, adding an element of structure to the whimsical designs.

These pieces exemplify the finest quality enameling and feature hand-painted Boucher vignettes on the front, signed by the artist J. Lubar.
