About the Item

A beautiful pair of Japanese Meiji period (1868-1912) lacquer braziers, or "hibachi". These may be used as beautiful planters, since they have copper lining, but these were created to contain a small coal burning fire, to be used as hand warmers. Each has six reserves, one on each side, with raised edges, and are decorated with flowers, fruit, and birds.
