About the Item

We present you with this exquisite pair of cassolettes crafted from violet breccia marble, dating back to the Napoleon III era. They feature highly decorative bronze embellishments such as the garland motifs and the mascarons (ornamental faces, usually human, sometimes frightening or chimeric, whose alleged function was originally to frighten away evil spirits) which form their handles. The upper bronze parts of these cassolettes are intricately decorated with flowers, adding a delicate and feminine touch to their overall aesthetic appeal. These pieces serve as highly decorative accents, perfect for enhancing the charm of a fireplace or dresser. Originating from the late 19th century, they are in very good condition.
