About the Item

A refined Late 19th century German decorative porcelain urn by Höchst Porcelain, produced in Germany during the mid to late 19th century. This elegant tableware-form urn features an urn-shaped body with a gently narrowed neck, resting on a round base and topped with a removable domed lid. The white ground is beautifully adorned with hand-painted pastoral countryside scenes rendered in a rich puce, reddish-purple palette, providing a striking contrast to the crisp porcelain surface. The composition is further enhanced by fired gilt gold trim along the rim and lid edge, adding a refined decorative finish. The piece measures approximately 12 inches high with a diameter of 6 inches. It is in good condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The underside is signed “Höchst” and bears the wheel trademark, confirming the maker. A versatile and decorative porcelain urn that can be displayed in a variety of interiors and complements both traditional and eclectic décor.
