Stunning imposing Pair of French Sevres Style Soft Paste Porcelain and Ormolu Twin Handle Electric Table Lamps of traditional bulbous form, and of good size proportions, raised on a very ornate dome shaped circular porcelain base on a plain square support with canted corners. Mid Nineteenth Century. The hand painted central reserves depicting a seated Courting Couple in landscape wearing Eighteenth Century dress, back view with village and lake scene within a raised tooled gilt detail on a rich cobalt blue ground. Condition: Good condition with no losses to porcelain, no gilding wear within porcelain areas. Bronze mounts have been professionally re-gold plated. Professionally re-wired for electricity. Height: (entire as main image including the top of bulb holder, an impressive) 22.5" (57cm). Width: (across arms) 8.5" (21.5cm). Depth: (at base) 4.75” (11.5cm). Location: Dublin City, Ireland. A large and impressive 19th century French 'Sevres' ormolu mounted painted porcelain covered urn. Cobalt-blue baluster form with tooled gilt bordering cartouche centered with hand painted romantic scene depicting a standing man and two ladies. The reverse side with landscape scene within a tooled gilt bordered cartouche. An intricately detailed gilded bronze wreath, wings and hinged ring handles flank each side of urn, conforming socle base with a gilt bronze rim with continuous acanthus leaf detail, gilt bronze shapely plinth.
