About the Item
This is a Choisy le Roi Majolica Urn Vase after a model by Louis Robert Carrier Belleuse. It depicts a huge and heavy urn vase hand painted with a white background decorated with gold color leaves, a bird and berries plus gilt and platinum color bands at the top and at the bottom. Two gold color maids exposing side of their breasts but wearing a white robe adorned with gold stars and flowers are standing at each side of the urn holding a scroll handle and a link chain. Their wavy hair is adorned with a tiara in one of them and a bow in the other one. The urn is supported by an octagonal shaped base.
