About the Item

Double sided porcelain urns with genre scenes and still life paintings on their reverse. The piece demonstrates the technical excellence of Sèvres porcelain, with delicate gold leaf in the form of foliage and garlands applied to the porcelain itself. The porcelain vases are beautifully decorated with gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts, containing expertly cast lion heads flanking each piece, crowned by gilt pinecones, and sitting on swirling covers. Florals, foliage, bow and fluted pilasters ornament the ormolu throughout. Signed by the artist: Sabourin Measurements: 24 in x 9.5
