About the Item

A handsome and large scale French 19th century Grand Tour period patinated bronze, marble and ormolu tazza signed F. LEVILLAIN 1866. The tazza is raised on four richly chased ormolu paw feet below a square mottled Rouge du Languedoc marble base. The patinated bronze tazza displays a bottom chased band at the socle pedestal. The top displays fine mythological chasing of Zeus with Pandora's Box framed within an elegant chased band and inscribed PANDORE below the signature. All original patina and gilt.
