About the Item
Dramatic, large pair of 18th-century Italian carved wood flame urns, or pots au feu, richly detailed with acanthus leaf bases and boldly sculpted flames rising upward. Retaining traces of original gilding beneath an aged patina, they were likely once mounted on a grand architectural element or altar.
