About the Item

This is a very fine delicate presentation vase from the Berber people of the Atlas Mountains of Algeria . Fired from local clay and hand painted in pigments ground from the soil of the local area . This piece would have been given as a wedding present to a girl of status within the locality. The piece has slight damage to the rear of the lip on the top of the vase but does not detract from the aesthetics of the piece. A fine late 19th century piece
