ANTIQUE Lucy Fairfield Perkins Stoneware
This is a rare, large hand-built and burnished terra cotta vase with Etruscan-style decoration of farming scenes, Bridgeport, CT, 1907. There is a chip on the bottom ridge from firing.
Signed FECIT LUCY FAIRFIELD PERKINS 1907 (The term “FECIT” on the bottom translates to “he/she made it.” It is often used on works of art to indicate the artist’s creation.) Lucy Fairfield Perkins Ripley (1874 - 1949) was active/lived in New York, Minnesota.
