About the Item

Stunning Pair French Well Veined Sienna Marble and Ormolu Twin Handle Urns of exceptional quality, in the Regency style, last half of the Nineteenth Century of medium proportions. Each of ovoid outline with applied nicely cast ormolu mounts and twin decorative leaf capped scrolling handles, twin flame formed finials, ending on a circular shaped ormolu waisted socle, raised on square stepped marble bases supported on four ormolu pad feet. Condition: These stylish pair are offered in original perfect condition with nice surface patination, no losses anywhere. Back and front views are similar. Height: (entire as shown image one) 13.5" (34cm). Width: (at base) 6" (15cm). Depth: (at base) 4.25” (10.5cm). Location: Dublin City, Ireland. Giallo Siena Marble: The famous and prestigious yellow marble comes from the quarries of Colle Valle d’Elsa near Siena in Italy. Traditionally it was used almost exclusively for castles and palaces, the Lodges of the Pope etc. Today Giallo Siena is also used in various other ambiences where the golden color gives a touch of luxury and exclusivity, e. g. in hotel suites and bathrooms, for floor patterns and borders as well as columns and fireplaces.
