About the Item
A most decorative pair of French 19th century Empire st. Rouge de France marble and Ormolu urns. Each wonderful lidded urn is raised by an Ormolu rimmed circular marble base supporting the Ormolu socle pedestal displaying a berried laurel band and a fluted pattern. The Rouge de France marble body is adorned with winged caryatids linked by swaging fabrics and decorated with floral reserves. The neck is decorated by Ormolu acorn leaves all below the fitted marble lid with an acorn finial.
