About the Item

This monumental royal vienna palace urn with hand painted scenes of The Judgement of Paris, and Diana and Endymion on the reverse is truly breathtaking. Ornately glaze painted on a banded mint, raspberry and gold ground with raised gold gilt painted floral and foliate patterns. This urn's decoration is especially unique due to the raised porcelain accents; from the golden horned ram's head handles to the blue glazed scroll forms flanking  macron faces. Resting on a tiered porcelain base with a golden wreath. Signed "Austria" on the top and stem  Austrian Late 19th Century 45" x 17" D
