This sculptural Murano glass vase by V. Nason
Cie, produced in the 1980s, is a refined example of late 20th-century Venetian glassmaking with subtle postmodern influence. Executed using the traditional sommerso technique, the vase features a deep cobalt blue inner core encased within a layer of smoked grey glass, all overlaid with clear crystal. The resulting stratification creates notable optical depth and tonal complexity, characteristic of high-quality Murano production.
The form is compact yet expressive, with a rounded, weighted base that rises into a gently twisting body and finishes in an asymmetric, fishtail-shaped mouth.
