About the Item
We are thrilled to to share with you the first addition to INI CERAMIQUE’s 2024 collection. Inspired by the works of the painting artist Giorgio Morandi, our designer has been reinterpreted and designed these vases with her own feeling. The ‘Morandi Vase - Blue’ showcases delicate underglaze illustrations, available in black or blue, that harmonize traditional and modern aesthetics.
Crafted by our designer, the underglazes are meticulously applied by hand before the initial firing, infusing the vase with a touch reminiscent of traditional figurative art. After a second firing at 1250°C, a transparent glaze is added to the interior for a refined finish, ensuring lasting durability.
As each piece is artisanal, decorative patterns and shapes may vary subtly, highlighting the authenticity that defines our craftsmanship.
DETAILS:
- Stoneware fired at high temperatures, finished with a glossy transparent glaze on the interior.
- Raw exterior showcasing the natural texture of the clay, harmoniously paired with hand-painted underglaze motifs (applied on one size of the vase).

INI CERAMIQUE
INI CERAMIQUE IS A STUDIO BASED IN FRANCE, WHOSE STONEWARE WORK AIMS TO CREATE DECORATIVE PIECES, CREATING A LINK BETWEEN ARCHITECTURE, ART AND NATURE. THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF CAPSULE COLLECTIONS BUILT AROUND A CONTEMPORARY AESTHETIC VISION, OUR CREATIONS GENERATE A DIALOGUE BETWEEN MATERIAL, TEXTURE AND HANDMADE. GRADUATED FROM THE ÉCOLE SUPÉRIEURE DES BEAUX-ARTS IN MONTPELLIER IN 2018, OUR DESIGNER INHEE MA IS FROM SOUTH KOREA AND IS DEVELOPING A MULTIDISCIPLINARY ACTIVITY, COMBINING CONTEMPORARY ART, DESIGN AND CRAFTS. SHE NOW LIVES AND WORKS IN BURGUNDY, FRANCE. THE INI CERAMIQUE COLLECTIONS EMERGE FROM THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN AESTHETIC INSPIRATION AND THE FUNCTIONALITY OF EVERYDAY OBJECTS. ALL INI CERAMIQUE PIECES ARE HANDCRAFTED BY THE DESIGNER, IN HER WORKSHOP. IN CHAMOTTE STONEWARE, THEY ARE THEN FIRED AT HIGH TEMPERATURE AND PRESENT A CONTRAST BETWEEN A SHINY TRANSPARENT GLAZED INTERIOR AND A RAW EXTERIOR EMPHASIZING THE NATURAL TEXTURE OF THE CLAY.

Catalina Pottery (or Catalina Island Pottery) is the commonly used name for Catalina Clay Products, a division of the Santa Catalina Island Company, which produced brick, tile, tableware and decorative pottery on Santa Catalina Island, California. Catalina Clay Products was founded in 1927 by William Wrigley, Jr. of the Wrigley chewing gum family. He built a tile and brick pottery factory on a beach located near Avalon, Santa Catalina Island. The new pottery became Catalina Clay Products, a division of Wrigley's Santa Catalina Island Company. The pottery used local clays from the Island and had two business purposes: to produce clay building products and to provide the much needed year-round employment for Island residents.
Gladding, McBean & Co. acquired all of the assets of the company in 1937 and moved all production to its Franciscan dinnerware...
