About the Item
A handmade flowing sculptural vase made from black stoneware that features a soft curved side, straight edge and gold lustre circular detail. The raw black textured stoneware clay perfectly compliments the shine of the 24 karat gold lustre. It has an unglazed exterior and transparent glazed interior. There is a softness and imperfection attributed to the handmade nature of the piece with visible textural markings from the clay and making process.
Created by Miyelle at her studio in Hackney, London, this unique piece is part of her “In Lust” collection. It was inspired by the feelings of fantasy and intense attraction associated with lustful desire. The oscillating wave of the piece represents the waves of emotion when falling in lust while the circular motif is inspired by the other-worldly, dizzying highs one experiences.

Miyelle
Miyelle creates ceramic sculptures that reflect the nuances of the human experience. Our work is an exploration of antithesis—the tensions between strength and fragility, solitude and connection, stability and change.
We find beauty in this duality. Our design language juxtaposes organic forms inspired by the body, water, and the solar system with clean, geometric lines. Smooth curves meet sharp edges, and exaggerated proportions are used to find harmony in contrast.
Miyelle was born from a desire to reconnect with the tactile in an increasingly digital world. With roots in graphic design, we apply principles of form, colour, and space to the ancient medium of clay, creating a dialogue between contemporary theory and elemental materials.
We believe clay is the perfect medium to express metamorphism. It is mouldable and volatile, transformed by hand, environment, and fire. In the same way, our lives are shaped by our choices and the forces around us. Ultimately, our pieces are an attempt to capture the beauty of these transformations, celebrating the complex and elegant shapes of our lives.
