About the Item

Here is a very striking ceramic vase by Alfonso Otero Regal. The Picasso-style vase was crafted in Galicia, Spain and features a face design with other hand-painted and etched sgraffito abstract motifs. The vase is fairly substantial, measuring 7" in diameter and over 10" high. It is in very good condition with no chips, hairlines, cracks or repairs. There are minor scuffs and a few minimal darker in the white body, but nothing that detracts from the overall presentation of this wonderful vase. About Alfonso Otero Regal: Alfonso Otero Regal (b. 1952) is a Galician sculptor and ceramicist celebrated for his expressive, avant-garde approach to pottery. Known for bold, face-driven abstractions and a mastery of techniques such as sgraffito, his work bridges fine art and functional craft. Influenced by modernist movements including Cubism and Expressionism, Otero Regal has exhibited widely across Spain and Europe, earning recognition as one of Galicia’s leading contemporary ceramicists. Collectors prize his work for its ability to capture both the experimental spirit of Spanish modernism and the intimacy of hand-crafted ceramics.
