About the Item

A fine antique American art pottery vase. Decorated by Charles Stanley Todd for Rookwood Pottery. Shape no. 1697. With incised decoration and a mustard yellow glaze over an orange-brown ground. Marked to the base. Simply a wonderful American Arts Crafts pottery vase! Date: 1920 Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There is a divet in the foot (from what looks like factory grinding of glaze on the foot.) Otherwise, there is some crazing to the glaze, some fritting to the foot, some fine light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Rookwood Pottery Marks: Marked to the base with a Rookwood Pottery maker's mark / XIX for 1920 / 1697 for the shape number / an incised CJT. Measurements: Height: ca. 8 1/8 in.
