This elegant, cylinder shaped cobalt blue glass vase is handpainted with gold enamel, depicting a scene with a crane in a reed shore. In Asian arts and crafts the crane is a symbol for longevity and happiness. This fine piece of glass was designed in the oriental taste which was the height of fashion in the 1880's.
