About the Item
A pair of Japanese cloisonne enamel early Meiji translucent enamel vases . Each vase has an urn shaped body, a wide neck, and a fluted base. The vases are adorned with polychrome enamel designs depicting Phoenix birds surrounded by floral, foliage and swirl motifs made in the Cloisonne technique. The necks and the bases are decorated with foliage and geometrical patterns made in the same technique. The grounds are inlaid with Gold stones. Probably signed on the bottom..
