A fine example of Victorian decorative art, this Bristol milk glass vase features a delicately hand painted portrait of a young woman in profile, framed within a gilt cartouche. Surrounding the central portrait are richly painted floral motifs in shades of violet, green, and orange, accented with gilded detailing and cherry clusters along the upper register. The soft, opaque white ground of the milk glass provides a luminous backdrop, enhancing the vibrancy of the hand painted decoration.
