About the Item

Superb, highly decorative, handmade Art Deco vase. Alphonse Cytère (1861–1941) was a French ceramicist renowned for developing the "flamed stoneware" technique in Rambervillers. He collaborated with the École de Nancy, producing glazed stoneware pieces with iridescent reflections, characterized by colors ranging from green to purple. His technical innovation and refined aesthetic left their mark on French ceramics in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His work is still recognized and preserved in prestigious museums.
