About the Item
An elegant Swedish Art Deco stoneware vase designed by Erik Mornils for Nittsjö Keramik, circa 1930s.
The vase features a rounded baluster form with subtly modeled side handles and a wide, slightly flared rim. It is finished in a richly variegated green glaze with darker mottled accents, characteristic of Nittsjö production from the interwar period. The glaze displays depth and movement, shifting from deep emerald to softer mossy tones, beautifully emphasizing the sculptural form.
The base is signed and marked “N.S. Sweden,” confirming its origin and attribution. A fine example of Scandinavian Art Deco ceramics, combining refined craftsmanship with a bold yet organic decorative expression.
