Elegant black glass Art Deco vase by Anatole Riecke, finely crafted in France and signed and dated by the artist. This one-off piece features a striking Cubist architectural motif rendered in natural pigments, an excellent example of Riecke’s refined geometric style.
A Russian-born artist active in Paris from the 1930s, Riecke is known for his glass decoration work at the legendary restaurant La Coupole, frequented by artists such as Cocteau, Foujita, Giacometti, Man Ray, and Braque.
Beautifully sculptural and expertly executed, this vase is a standout decorative object and a desirable piece for collectors of French Art Deco.

A. Riecke was a very talented cubist artist who lived and worked in Paris in the early 20th century. His name and date are etched in the glass as part of the decorative detail. Riecke was responsible for the Art Deco glass decor of the restaurant La Coupole.
