About the Item
Lelievre (Eugene), sculptor, born March 13 1856 in Paris. (French School.) Exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais where he won first prize.
The Susse Freres Foundry was formed in 1839 by the brothers Michel Victor and Amedee Susse. At the turn of the century Susse Freres opened a large retail shop at 13 Boulevard de Madeleine, Paris to sell their produce. This included desk items, candelabras, clocks, sculptures and throughout the 1920's, high quality car mascots. The company is still in existence today.
