About the Item
Rare set of Singed Pauly vase and bowl by Berit Johansson, Swedish designer who worked and works for top glass maker companies. She brings a freshness of design with her use of color and mostly flower subjects.
The design is made with pate de verre application over transparent glass.
The result is that the pattern of the design resemble brush strokes.
Berit worked with Pauly at the end of the 1990s, her works are worldwide represented, including Corning Glass Museum.
The design of the nasturtium flower covers the whole body of the glass and, probably thanks to Silvano Signoretto, Pino Signoretto's brother, who used to transfer Berit works from design to glass, there are some leaves completing the three dimensions of the vessel, embracing the neck. The result is magnificent. Teh bowl repeats the design and has a red bead on the edge.
See the details of the core of the flower and the texture of the pate the verre used.
Carries an imprinted PAULY stamp on the glass, plus the Murano guarantee label.
This vase will bring a colorful and bright accent to your home, from a famous designer and one of the most important glass factory in Murano.
Directly from Pauly's shop. Pauly is the witness of the last century history of Murano, worked with Martinuzzi, Barbini, Seguso, Signoretto, Bubacco, Naiejan and so many others that I just can not mention them all.
One note, on the still life table colors are appearing a bith brighter than in reality. Please refer to the video for a better understanding of the colors.

View AllSeguso for Bisazza Pair Mustard Murano Pulegoso Vase Gold Rim, 1993 Signed
By Seguso
Cenadese, Bisazza Vetro, Seguso, Seguso Vetri d
Arte, Livio Seguso
Located in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, Florence
Set of two splendid Pulegoso vase. One round and the other tall. The round is lighter and the tall darker tone of mustard.
Perfectly executed Pulegoso finish. This is Murano Crucible Pulegoso. The mouth has a rim with external gold leaf difficult to notice because it does not contrast with the background. Just magnificent and rare set.
At first I believed, because of the round shape, that Bisazza was dovetailing Carlo Scarpa original round shape from the 1930s. When I was able to see the pieces and see the year, then all came clear. In the second part of the 1980s there was a re-discover in Interior design of the Native American arts. In particular, the Navaho products. As Carlo Scarpa took his inspiration from Japanese shapes, here Bisazza translated in glass the Navaho pottery art. Here the reason for a hearty color, these orange toned Puligoso is part of the Seguso tradition. Colors that are not in high fashion.
This collection belongs to the Livio Seguso production made under Bisazza ownership for a small period of the early 1990s. Livio continued his artist career with the freedom and the free state of mind that came from not owning a company. Similar path of Luciano Vistosi.
Bisazza, the famous luxury mosaic company, continued Seguso models for the first part of the 1990s. Then closed the furnace and continued to focus with his mosaic collection. His masters, Elio Raffaelli...

Unique Murano Glass Vase Stellato in the style Pollio Perelda for Fratelli Toso
By Fratelli Toso
Located in Tavarnelle val di Pesa, Florence
Splendid murano mosaic vase with a perfect color combination and complex mosaic technique.
The stellato finish is made by rolling canes of various color over a small blob of incandescent glass. The design is attained by using the glass scissors at the end and making flat discs with a star design. All these are then heated on a flat surface, in the old time was a stone so this technique still carries that name, lavorazione a piera.
It's heated so that it becomes an unique mosaic rectangular piece. It's then rolled with a glass disc that has the exact perimeter of the rectangular side. This makes the name that this technique is internationally known, Roll-up technique. The difficulty is to close into a cylinder the two other sides of the rectangle. After that the cylinder is closed on the opposite end, glowed to ge to the size, changing the working point with the punty technique (a puntello) and handopening to get the final shape.
An incredible sequence of glassmaking technique to get a special design.
The result is an intricate design of stars in an infinitive patchwork of color matching.
This is commonly known as Stellato vase, which was enhanced and studied by Pollio Perelda...
