About the Item

Designed by the Danish designer, Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal, Germany. Fully signed on the bottom and on the front, in gold, Bjorn Wiinblad. The illustrated design is from the Samuramat or Shammuramat series. The decoration is inspired by the tales of the powerful and influential queen of the Neo-Assyrian Empire c. 850 BC. The seated queen is flanked by a large floral motif. The "pillow" form is decorated in a predominantly gold speckled glaze with an iridescent glaze that gives the theme a romantic, dreamlike quality. Good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks hairlines or restorations. Very minor cosmetic wear, if any. The vase stands approximately 3" deep x 8.25" wide x 8.5" high.
