The Black Caviar Porcelain Vessel is a striking sculptural piece defined by its intricate surface and refined form. Crafted from porcelain, the vessel features a densely textured exterior reminiscent of caviar pearls — each minute dot creating a tactile rhythm across the rounded silhouette. Its glossy black glaze is punctuated with delicate white accents, giving the surface a shimmering, almost cosmic quality under the light. The spherical form, slightly asymmetrical with a small opening at the top, evokes both natural and celestial references — like a seed pod or a planet. Fired to high temperature, the vessel achieves a glass-like sheen while maintaining the delicate translucency and strength of fine porcelain. Lana Kova Studio
Lana Kova Studio was founded in 2014 by Lana Kova, and is based in in Tribeca NYC. Lana works in sculpture, ceramics, watercolor and painting and has been an active participant in the New York art scene. She specializes in contemporary ceramic sculpture, pottery, and porcelain, and has a passion for glaze research and experimentation. Her signature: the seemingly infinite - hand drawn dots covering the inside and outside of a bowl; coral-like carvings surrounding a large ceramic sculpture. Her art is meditative, the result of controlled rhythm and concentration. Lana Kova has exhibited with Sara Japanese Pottery, The Fireplace Project, Studio 11, and Greenwich House Pottery. She was one of the selected artists to participate in the Gyeonggi-do International Ceramic Competition Exhibition in 2017 and her sculpture Black Urchin was selected for the permanent collection of Korea Ceramic Foundation, South Korea.
