About the Item

Ruby red glass vase by Egermann, produced in the tradition of Bohemian glassmaking and dating to circa 1940. The vase is made of deep red glass and decorated using acid etching combined with engraving, creating matte white ornamentation that contrasts with the translucent ground. The decoration varies around the body of the vase and features different ornamental compositions on each side. Motifs include birds, architectural and garden elements, floral and geometric patterns, as well as a deer motif, clearly visible within one of the decorative medallions (see photos). This variation in decoration enhances the visual interest of the piece when viewed in the round. The vase has a classic baluster form with a flared rim and a circular foot, consistent with Egermann production of the mid-20th century. Based on its technique, form, and decorative style, the vase can be confidently attributed to Egermann, Bohemia. Well suited for display on a console, in a cabinet, or on a mantel as a decorative standalone object.
