About the Item

Fine cobalt blue transfer-printed stoneware vase from the renowned Westerwald pottery region. Of baluster form with a cylindrical neck, the body is richly decorated with a dense pattern of grapevines and leaves, emblematic of the Rhinelandwine culture. The piece bears the underglaze blue crowned monogram mark “LAW” beneath a crown and the word “RHEIN,” denoting production by the Westerwaldische Steinzeugindustrie (formerly Rheinische Steinzeugwarenfabrik). Very good condition.
